Lichfield District

We Are Well-placed for Success

Excellent transport links via rail and motorway, together with a highly skilled, entrepreneurial workforce and even Staffordshire’s first Michelin-starred restaurant, make Lichfield a perfect place to invest.

Renowned for its many historic buildings including the UK’s only three spired cathedral, the city is bursting with quality housing, award winning parks, employment opportunities and a vibrant, purple flag-recognised night-time economy. It’s also home to major attractions including Drayton Manor Park and the National Memorial Arboretum, with local culture including the Garrick Theatre and regular festivals celebrating food and music.

Lichfield City Centre Masterplan

The Masterplan consists of two iconic new development and investment opportunities in the heart of Lichfield City centre, part of the gateway Birmingham Road Site, a pivotal project designed to transform the city centre.

Anchored by an Everyman Cinema complex, these developments offer a once-in-a-generation chance to high-quality residential and commercial developers to maximize the potential of this site. The investment opportunities include high quality residential with 60 to 100 homes, mixed tenure residential with 80 to 100 homes including affordable housing, and 10,000 sq m of high-quality commercial floor space, blending office accommodation, a hotel and retail spaces. The initial phase with cinema complex and plaza is on schedule to open in Spring 2026.

The Lichfield District 2050 strategy

This is an opportunity for everyone to engage in the future of the area, to think about what they want Lichfield to be by 2050 – a place in which people, their children, businesses and visitors can thrive. It’s a collective commitment to make Lichfield District the most confident, prosperous, active and green part of the country by 2050 – a longer-term view of shared priorities which is challenging, bold and aspirational.
